Developer Small Bros has just released a new Biota gameplay trailer that showcases the game’s multiple locations for players to explore. Discover over 10 biomes whether you are on foot or in vehicles.

Coming from the one-man video game studio, small Bros, the studio was founded by Ivan Porrini back in 2015, releasing Ghostly Matter as its first title, while Biota is going to be the second from the developer.

B.I.O.T.A. Trailer

B.I.O.T.A. is a 2D metroidvania inspired shooter set on a wild and dangerous sci-fi, pixel-art planet. Get ready to face hostile alien life forms and investigate a mysterious mining colony as a group of ragtag heroes from the future, all in glorious 4-color palettes and detailed 8-bit visuals.

In Biota, you take command of a crack commando squad on a mission to explore the mutant-infested asteroid. The game features glorious 8-bit visuals and an upbeat chiptunes soundtrack that will take you back to the past adventure games.

With control over the Gemini 2 commando squad, you will battle more than 40 types of mutants as you traverse ten different environments throughout Frontier Horizon, an asteroid mining base overrun by a mysterious biological organism.

Whether you explore on foot or by using the multiple vehicles on offer, each of your squad members will get to discover their unique unlockable weapons and abilities that will help you survive the deadly trap and mutant-filled corridors. There are plenty of upgrades and unique weapons that you can use or the one that suits you the most. Whether you pick a sniper or a buckshot-loaded shotgun.

As for the enemies, there are 40+ vicious degenerated monsters from simple, but huge mutated hornets, armed shield sentries to lethal infecting xenoshifters.
