How to Beat Golzuna
Golzuna relies on shapeshifting, which isn’t made known early on, but becomes apparent as you deal damage to it. In the first phase, Golzuna will come as a smaller version of a Muzby enemy that transforms to its real shape once you deal enough damage.
The boss’ attacks include the Shockwave Slam where it raises its claws and slams on the ground that sends a shockwave forward. This attack can be avoided if you jump in the air or leap behind the boss. Another reason to jump behind Golzuna is that it is weak on its back. Jumping and dashing behind the boss will give you enough time to hit the boss a couple of times. This is because Golzuna is pretty slow in turning around to face you, or if it is stuck in an animation, it takes even longer.
However, its backside is not a safe spot to be at all times. Golzuna sends forth different types of bombs, where the most frequent one is a homing bomb that follows you wherever you go, and then explodes sending a blast zone in four directions. The other two attacks with these bombs bring out diagonal and cross bomb patterns where you need to look out for multiple orbs coming at you and then exploding in different directions.
You will have to look out for the bombs more than worrying about the boss, as they will force you to stay in the air longer to avoid their shockwave pattern. Having said that, your strategy to jump behind the boss and attacking should be more than enough to take the boss down.
In the final stage, the boss will turn into X-Parasite, following around and spewing health orbs that you can pick as it gets hit.
