How to Access Grand Underground
The Grand Underground is pretty much unlocked automatically in the main story after you get the Explorer’s Kit. This is a key item that you can access from your bag and choose how you want to enter.
Building Base
Grand Underground also lets you build a secret base of yours but only after you have at least visited the Grand Underground for the first time, dug up the treasure, and returned to the old man in Eterna City.
You have to do this because to build a base, you need a Digger Drill, which can only be obtained from the old man after you talk to him. Once you have the Digger Drill, you can start building a base and decorate it with statues which will allow more Pokémon to spawn in the Grand Underground.
How to Find Treasures and Rare Pokémon
The main goal of the Grand Underground will be for you to catch some rare pokemon and to find treasures. Treasures can be found when you spot shiny highlights on the map, taking you to the treasure location. You can make this easier by using your radar, which will then give you the precise location.
To dig out the treasure in the safest manner, hit the wall with the hammer, and then use the pickaxe to dig it out.
The Grand Underground also hosts rare Pokémon which include Ralts, Magnemite, Topegi, and other Pokémon which are all considered rare Pokémon.
