SEGA Has Announced a New Open-World Sonic Title Sonic Frontiers

SEGA has announced a brand-new open-world 3D sonic game Sonic Frontiers at The Game Awards 2021. Sonic Frontiers is the franchise’s first-ever open-zone-inspired title and will allow fans of Sonic to experience the game in a completely different way. SEGA revealed a short trailer for the game as well which gives us a small teaser of what we can expect from the full game when it comes out.

Sonic Frontiers is being developed by SEGA’s Sonic Team Japan and the production is being led by Sachiko Kawamura with director Morio Kishimoto. The official press release details that ‘in the dangerous and vast world of Sonic Frontiers, anything is possible, and players will have the freedom to explore the visually stunning, open-zone realm.

Sonic Frontiers is a huge leap forward for the franchise, delivering an evolved gameplay experience that can be enjoyed by longtime Sonic fans and action-adventure enthusiasts alike. With the effort of the talented developers at Sonic Team Japan, we’ve created an all-new style of gameplay experience for Sonic the Hedgehog, where players will be able to explore lush and expansive landscapes with Sonic’s signature speed and abilities. There’s sure to be lots of twists and turns around every corner in ‘Sonic Frontiers,’ and we’re excited to unveil more information about the game over the coming months.

Sonic Frontiers is slated for a holidays 2022 release however no additional release details have been announced at this moment such as platforms or a release month. SEGA will reveal additional details about the title in the coming days so make sure that you keep checking back.
