How to Catch Alpha Pokémon in Pokémon Legends Arceus
When you first run into an Alpha Pokémon, you will immediately learn about their larger size and threatening nature with their read glowing eyes. Whether you want to fight them or sneak in to catch them, both approaches present their own challenges.
Most times that you find an Alpha Pokémon and decide to battle, you will pose less of a challenge to it, especially when you have lower level Pokemon in your party. As a beginner, you can go for a more non-confrontational approach with the right items and strategy.
First things first, you need the correct items for this approach. The first item is the Heavy Ball which allows you to catch Alpha Pokémon, or ensures that catch one with higher chances of capture. Other useful items are all about redirecting their attention away from you as you sneak closer to catch them. These items are Berries and Smoke Bombs. Berries are an excellent way to distract an Alpha Pokémon away from you, while Smoke Bombs come in handy in places where there is no grass for you to hide in cover.
Now that are ready with items, you now have to guarantee that you never fail an approach when you spot an Alpha Pokémon. This ensures that if the Pokémon is spooked or runs off, you can load up your manual save and return to the same spot with the Pokémon that you found.
With berries, smoke bomb, and the Heavy Ball ready, all you are left to do is to creep up within striking distance, without alerting the Alpha Pokémon, and then throw the ball to catch it. If you do fail and somehow alert the Pokémon, you can always load up your manual save and try again.
