NACON and development studio Spiders have announced the new title Greedfall 2 which will act as a prequel to the original title Greedfall. The announcement comes after the success of the first title Greedfall which managed to sell over 2 million copies. Sticking to the formula of the first title, Greedfall 2 will be an RPG focusing on story and player choices along with incorporating new gameplay into the game as well in the form of tactical combat.
Greedfall 2 is set three years before the events of the first game and the adventures of De Sardet. This time, you will play as a native of Teer Fradee, uprooted by force from your island and taken to the continent of Gacane, where the colonists are from. This old world is ravaged by war and scarred by the Malichor plague along with the political scheming of various factions. Your goal is to regain your freedom and control your own destiny.
Apart from combat, you will be able to use diplomacy, cunning, or combat and make various allies along your way to end one man’s ambitions of conquest which could spell the end for the continent and your island. Greedfall 2 will release on PC and consoles in 2024 and at this point, no additional details are known such as will it only release on current-gen consoles or will the game also grace previous-gen consoles. With most developers now scrapping the previous-gen releases in order to focus on the current-gen releases, there is a chance that Greedfall 2 might only release on the current-gen consoles as well however we will get to know about this in the future.
