Dune: Spice Wars Early Access Roadmap Reveals Multiplayer, Advanced Units, New Faction

Dune: Spice Wars Roadmap

Funcom and Shiro Games have revealed the early access roadmap for their recently released 4X strategy game Dune: Spice Wars. The new roadmap gives us a picture of what we can expect to arrive in Dune: Spice Wars in the upcoming months. With a solid early access launch which felt meaty already, we can see additional features such as multiplayer, new faction, advanced units, councilors, and additional features to arrive this summer and beyond.

According to the released roadmap, we can expect a brand-new feature of multiplayer to arrive this summer. With this feature in place, players will be able to fight, spy, and scheme against other players in both co-op and online modes. The update will bring co-op, free-for-all, and PvP modes to the game where up to four players will be able to play a game at the same time. Apart from multiplayer, Shiro Games is also introducing a new faction and a new victory condition this summer.

Additional details about the new faction and the new victory condition have not been revealed at this point however we can expect them to land soon as well. Beyond summer, the developer is aiming to bring spaceports, ships, and other advanced units to Dune: Spice Wars. This update will allow players to create new buildings and deploy powerful units for their defense and offense. One of the features which were present in the Early Access release but were not functional was the use of Councilors.

The final update showcased so far for Dune: Spice Wars is the feature to activate your councilors and use them during the game. These Councilors act as special agents as well as fighting units and each of them comes with their own unique abilities that will benefit your faction. This is planned for beyond summer however this will be perhaps the most sought-after update since currently, we cannot use Councilors in the game despite choosing them.

Apart from adding new content to the game, upcoming updates will also improve the game all across the board with every update. These updates will be in sync with community feedback and adapting to circumstances so some of these features might change as development on the title progresses further.
