Ubisoft is celebrating 15 years of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and currently, everyone can play Assassin’s Creed Origins for free during the weekend. Fans of the franchise who have been playing Assassin’s Creed since the very first title have come a long way with the franchise and to thank everyone who has still stuck around, Ubisoft will be celebrating with free gifts, events, and more. The free weekend for Assassin’s Creed Origins is part of the celebration as well.

Assassin’s Creed Origins recently received a 60 FPS boost update for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as part of the 15 years celebration of the Assassin’s Creed celebration and now Ubisoft is giving fans a chance to experience this amazing title on the platform of their choice. The free weekend is available on PS55, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, and PC via the Ubisoft Connect app. Everyone who downloads the free game and then later decides to purchase the full game once the free weekend has ended will get to keep all of their progression, and unlocks.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is set in Ancient Egypt where players jump in the shoes of Bayek. Bayek finds himself in Ancient Egypt during a mysterious and pivotal period that shaped civilization. As a protector of Egypt and one of the first assassins, Bayek must dive into a vibrant and systematic open world and discover the secrets of the great pyramids, forgotten myths, and the last of pharaohs. The free weekend will give players access to the full game and if they decided to purchase it during the free weekend, it currently has a massive 85% discount on the full price.

The 15-year celebration is not just limited to Assassin’s Creed Origins as players will find plenty of goodies in other titles as well. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players are getting free content with the return of festivals, the Mastery Challenge Pack 2, and the Armory feature in the game along with new caves to explore this fall to solve the mystery of the Tombs of the Fallen. Players will also be able to take part in Odin’s rogue-lite-inspired journey to the spectacular region of Niflheim with the new game mode, The Forgotten Saga this summer.

The Forgotten Saga will offer players a fresh take on gameplay that will be free to all Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players. One last surprise for players will reveal the last episode of the story of Eivor as a free chapter to all players. The development team’s passion for making history available to a larger audience gave birth to three opuses of the Discovery Tour franchise. Now, for the franchise’s 15th anniversary, the Discovery Tour: Viking Age is also available as a stand-alone experience on consoles, Google Stadia along with PC.

Ubisoft is also teaming up with the Faculty of Education at McGill University to develop curriculum guides for teachers and students which are available online for free. These will help them make the most of Discovery Tour as learning tools in the classroom.
