Phat Loot Studios have announced their upcoming monster-taming game Untamed Isles with a brand-new trailer. Untamed Islands is a monster hunting and taming game where you will find tames, unique creatures that inhabit an ever-evolving world with interesting looks and even more intriguing features. While the monster-taming genre might be getting too common, Phat Loot Studios is aiming to take an all-new approach to monster-catching.
Untamed Isles will offer players more freedom in an open world along with multiplayer features and endless combinations of monsters to tame. Each of the tame in the game comes with one of 15 mood types affecting the tame’s coloring and combat style. At launch, new tames will be added to the game which will create an evolving world and expand the overall player experience as well. Apart from the normal tames, Untamed Isles also have extremely rare Gemborne and Alpha variations of tames as well.
Right at launch, Untamed Isles will feature over one million visually and tactically unique monsters. Unlike other monster-taming titles, there are only ten different base species of tames living in the Isles at launch however as the game progresses, players can switch out each base tame’s head, front legs, back legs, torso, and tail which may be randomly mixed to create a variety of combinations.
The Isles feature a unique weather system that will provide you with different experiences as well as impact the tames that appear in each weather type. Apart from finding, taming, fighting and breeding tames in the game, players will also get to explore dungeons, PP areas, and professions to consider. For its combat system, Untamed Isles features a Rock/Paper/Scissors style where Defense beats Attack, while Attack beats Utility, and Utility beats Defense. Apart from this, Move Speed and Stacking play a vital role in combat.
Key features of Untamed Isles include:
- Tames to Encounter: At launch, there will be 1,500,000 unique tames to collect. This is a result of the Untamed Isles mix and match system, generating tames based on a variety of tames body parts. Tames may also have one of 15 unique subtypes known as moods.
- Open-world Isles: The Isles are full of rich experiences that are constantly evolving. The unique weather system means tame encounters are adjusted based on the weather system. The Isles are continuously expanding, with new islands rising from the ocean.
- Professions: Players can grow their reputation and unlock exclusive items through professions. Fishing, fruit catching, rune charging, and bug catching are all playable professions on launch.
- Multiplayer: The Isles are even more fun to explore with other players. Join forces with friends, complete dungeons together, and battle tames all aided by proximity voice chat.
- Battles: Battles are turn-based real-time encounters inspired by traditional RPGs. PvP and PvE encounters are both possible.
Untamed Isles started its journey as a Kickstarter title and during its campaign, the game managed to secure over triple the funding goal with over three thousand backers during the campaign, Untamed Isles will now start its Early Access journey later this year.
