Ubisoft has announced that its time-trial-oriented racing game Trackmania is coming to consoles and cloud services in 2023. A confirmed release date was not announced at the recent Ubisoft Forward event however Trackmania will release in early 2023 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. At this point, Trackmania is only available on Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store. Ubisoft+ on PC, Stadia, and Luna is also offering subscribers access to Trackmania.
Sticking to its current formula, Trackmania will remain free-to-play however with the new console and cloud release, the game will support cross-play and cross-progression between all of the platforms. With its limited availability at this point, Trackmania already has over 10 million players and now the game will welcome even more players to experience the full extent of the game’s features. The game currently boasts over 280,000 tracks created by the players since its release two years ago.
Trackmania also offers different gameplay modes such as Royal and ranked game modes where you can team up with your friends as well. New official seasonal campaigns drop every 3 months and if you prefer, you can create your own tracks as well. The custom track editor features thousands of blocks and items for creative minds who want to develop and then race their own custom tracks. The custom track editor also allows you to upload your custom creations to the world so that players from around the world can experience them.
Trackmania on the consoles will give players the option to upgrade to the two premium access plans same as that of the PC. Apart from this, players on consoles will also get regular access to eSports events like the Cup of the Day. The premium access tiers unlock more social and community-oriented features such as Trackmania clubs where players can team up and create and share their own car customizations, organize private rooms and even build their own custom campaigns and competitions.
Before we conclude, Ubisoft is also bringing a brand-new feature to allow players to display their skill in a unique way as they will be able to unlock the evolutive car skins based on their driving talents and achievements in some parts of the game. More than 150 new blocks and items are also coming to all platforms to celebrate Trackmania coming to consoles. Additional information about the console release of Trackmania will be revealed in the upcoming days.
