We have curated this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Evolution Stones Locations Guide which details how you can find all of the Evolution Stones in the game.

Evolution Stones Locations Guide – Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

There are a total of 10 Evolution Stones that you can find in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in order to evolve different Pokemon. Depending on their type, these Pokemon will require a specific type of Evolution Stone and perfect conditions in order to evolve. These Evolution Stones include:

  • Dawn Stone
  • Dusk Stone
  • Fire Stone
  • Ice Stone
  • Leaf Stone
  • Moon Stone
  • Shiny Stone
  • Sun Stone
  • Thunder Stone
  • Water Stone

There are multiple ways of obtaining all of these Evolution Stones and you can check out below to check them out.

Port Miranda Auction House

If you do not want to spend too much time exploring the Paldea region and would prefer to find these Evolution Stones in one spot, you can try your luck at the Port Miranda Auction House. The vendors here change their inventory every day and if you are lucky enough, you might find an Evolution Stone at one of these vendors. However, you will need to have a decent amount of Poke Dollars to win them via auction since you will be fighting against NPCs for them.

Dawn Stone Locations

Dawn Stone is one of the Evolution Stones that is not really hard to find in the game. You can head over to the ruins northwest of Medali or the riverbank in East Province Area Three where you will find these Dawn Stones. You can also get them as random items and you will require Dawn Stone to evolve Kirlia and Snorunt.

Dusk Stone Locations

The Dusk Stone is so far the rarest Evolution Stone that you can find in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. For finding one, head to the backside of the Gym building in Montenevera and you will nab yourself a Dusk Stone. Since this is required to evolve both Murkrow and Misdreavous, you will need more than one so your best chance at securing another one is from the Port Miranda Auction House.

Fire Stone Locations

Progress in the main story of the game and after you have beaten the third Gym Leader and obtained their badge, you will be able to purchase the Fire Stone from Delibird Presents for 3000 Poke Dollars. If you are lucky, you will find them in random drops in East Province Area Two and East Province Area Three. You will need the Fire Stone to evolve your Capsakid, Eevee, and Growlithe.

Ice Stone Locations

Finding an Ice Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is purely based on your luck since these are found in random drops on Glaseado Mountain. Head over to the northeast area from the Montenevera Gym and look for random drops in order to find an Ice Stone. You will need the Ice Stone to evolve your Eevee, Cetoddle, and Crawbrawler.

Leaf Stone

There are two ways of finding the Leaf Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You can either get them as random items in Tagtree Tricket or if you have beaten the gym leader at the Levincia Gym and have their badge, you can buy it from Delibird Presents for 3000 Poke Dollars. You will need a Leaf Stone to evolve your Eevee.

Moon Stone

Moon Stone is yet another one that is a little harder to find in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You will find them as random items in Area Zero and if you are lucky, you can find one sitting on the southeast edge of the Great Crater of the Paldea region. Some players have found it here while some have reported not finding it here. You will need the Moon Stone to evolve your Jigglypuff.

Shiny Stone

To obtain a Shiny Stone, you can head over to the South Province Area Six where you will find one sitting at the lake northwest of Alfornada. Apart from this, you can also find the Shiny Stone as a random item on Soccarat Trail located north of Casseroya Lake. You will need it to evolve your Floette.

Sun Stone

The Sun Stone can be found as random items if you roam around the river in the West Province Area One. Apart from this, if you defeat the Sunflora in the Artazon Gym trial, you will also get some from them. You will need the Sun Stones to evolve your Petilil and Sunkern.

Thunder Stone

Progress in the main story of the game and after you have received your third Gym Badge, you will be able to purchase Thunder Stones from Delibird Presents for 3000 Poke Dollars. If you do not want to spend any money, you can try your luck and roam around East Province Area Three and Levincia where there is a chance of finding one randomly. You will need Thunder Stone to evolve your Eevee, Pikachu, Tadbulb, Magneton, and Eelektrick.

Water Stone

Progress in the main story of the game and once you have acquired your third Gym Badge, you will be able to purchase the Water Stone from Delibird Presents for 3000 Poke Dollars. If you are lucky, you may find the Water Stone randomly around Area Zero as well. Water Stone will help you evolve your Eevee and Shellder.
