Publisher Firesquid and developer Abbey Games have announced the sequel to the original god simulator game Reus, Reus 2 after ten solid years of development. The first game in the series Reus was released back in 2013 and it sold over one million units worldwide and now Reus 2 is on the way. Abbey Games is hopeful that Reus 2 will bring both series veterans and new players back to the franchise where they will control colossal giants and shape planets in order to guide humanity toward one of many destinies.
In Reus 2, players can expect their giants to do much more than simply nurture planets for humanity’s benefit. They will explore the fate of humanity in the cosmos of their creations. With the game’s civilization experiments, players will be able to create multiple planets and explore how different human tribes react to the world that has been shaped for them. Players will also plan and discover strategic synergies with ecosystems, biomes, and between giants. As players play the game they will discover more and more ways to bring life to their planets with endless combinations of nature and different rosters of giants.

The original Reus is a decade old, and much has changed in the gaming world. We’re excited to bring Reus 2 to this new era, and show what it can bring to all those who want to create their own perfect world!

Anders Larsson, founder and CEO also adds:
Reus 2 was an immediate love affair for us at Firesquid. This relaxed god game where you can just start another humanity if they misbehave is such a great idea, and Abbey Games have a history of developing great games!
It will be entirely up to the players to help humanity to uncover both the best and worst of their destinies. You will get the option to foster and shape human aspirations helping them achieve their goals or pave a more difficult road where humanity does most of the work themselves. Reus 2 will offer meta-progression and an adaptive experience, and it will be up to the players to decide the combination of challenging and relaxing gameplay they would like. If the game is not going according to their liking, they can always start a new humanity.
As much as we wanted to see a trailer of the game, we do not have one to share at this moment since the developer has yet to release one. However, the official Steam page of Reus 2 is now live, and you can add the game to your wishlist right now. Reus 2’s development is currently in full swing, and we will continue to share additional details with you as they are revealed.
