The Pokemon Company has announced the next expansion Scarlet & Violet – 151 for the Pokemon Trading Card Game alongside the launch of its ‘151 to 151’ campaign. The ‘151 to ‘151’ is a social media campaign that will allow players to explore the original 151 Pokemon from the Kanto region. This includes Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Snorlax, Mew, and a lot more Pokemon from the original lineup. The campaign is now live as it unveils the latest special expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game or TCG, Scarlet & Violet -151. It will release globally on September 22, 2023.
Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet – 151 will be a franchise-first to feature all 151 Pokemon from the Kanto region, newly reimagined in the Paldea region. This will allow Trainers to collect and battle with some of the brand’s most iconic Pokemon through the lens of the Scarlet & Violet Series. This expansion features cards in Pokedex order and includes a variety of illustration rare and special illustrations rare alternate art to showcase a new side of these iconic Pokemon. Noteworthy cards from the upcoming expansion include:
- 12 Pokémon ex
- 16 illustration rare and seven special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
- 16 ultra rare full-art etched Pokémon and Supporter cards
- Three hyper rare gold etched cards

The Pokemon Company also announced that ahead of the release of the tabletop version, players will be able to play Scarlet & Violet – 151 digitally via the Pokemon TCG Live app for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows from September 21, 2023. The expansion will be available in the in-game shop where interested players will be able to redeem Crystals, earned by completing daily quests, for different Scarlet & Violet – 151 products. Earlier this year, Pokemon Trading Card Game Live was launched with the new Paldea Expansion. The Scarlet & Violet Expansion received the fan favorite Lechonk back in April as well.
