Whateverland is a hand-painted point-n-click adventure game with a branching dialogue system, non-linear gameplay, various endings, and a unique in-game turn-based board game. In Whateverland, you are stuck inside a magical prison called Whateverland and you must find your way out of the prison. On your journey, you will meet different charismatic locals, be a good boy or be a bad boy and steal and deceive. Based on your choices, you will unlock one of many endings of the game.
There are two different endings to each level in the game and you will either steal from people or help them to unlock the required ending. There is a rich, branching dialogue that will tell you more about the world and its inhabitants as you influence your relationship with people and your sidekick Nick. You can play whatever you want first since the story is non-linear and it gives you the freedom of dropping your current chapter and moving to another one without any loss of progress. There are 19 mini-games and challenges in the game that will keep you entertained throughout the story.
Key features of Whateverland include:
- A not so classic point ‘n’ click.
- You can steal stuff. Or not – it’s your call.
- Your actions define the ending and what people think of you.
- The most annoying sidekick in the universe. (We still love you, Nick)
- You can talk to people. Not sure they’re going to talk to you, though.
- Turn-based strategy sports simulator included in the game. With magic.
- Loads of minigames.
- Music recorded with a real sextet. How sexy is that?
- Beautiful hand-drawn art style.
Whateverland is currently available on PC via Steam and will soon be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Additional details such as a confirmed release date for the game will be announced at a later date.
