Physical games publisher Meridiem has announced the release of a physical edition of Smells Like a Mushroom, the quirky third-person shooter and platformer developed by Red Limb Studio. Digitally published by Fatal Error and Destructive Creations, the game will see its physical Smells Like a Mushroom – 100% Vegan Edition hit PS5 shelves across European specialist retailers on November 12, 2024.
This physical edition, handled by Meridiem, will come with several exclusive items designed to enhance the experience for fans. Not only will it feature a striking neon-effect packshot, but you will also receive a set of adorable stickers and a special Boss Guide. This guide is aimed at helping you navigate the various challenges they’ll face in this chaotic vegan adventure, where the line between the bizarre and the hilarious is constantly blurred.

In Smells Like a Mushroom, you find yourself in a post-apocalyptic world where highly intelligent, ancient fungi have taken control. These mushrooms, whose intelligence surpasses that of any living creature, have one simple goal: to exterminate, infect, and reproduce—a fungal massacre that threatens the entire planet. However, Earth’s last line of defense comes in the form of plants, the only organisms left capable of resisting the fungal onslaught following the extinction of humanity. As you take on the role of these flora fighters, they must battle their way through waves of fungi in a mission to save the world.
