Publisher Maximum Entertainment and developer Goodwin Games have announced the launch of the beautiful and haunting soundtrack for their latest game Selfloss. In Selfloss, you follow Kazimir, a healer burdened with grief, as he embarks on a poignant journey through Yord, a land where the boundary between life and death blurs. His mission is to perform the Selfloss ritual, a symbolic act of coping with personal loss. As you guide Kazimir through rivers, fields, and vast landscapes, they uncover stories of the inhabitants and interact with deities, most notably the majestic and beautiful whales that symbolize the world’s spiritual essence.

The game’s soundtrack, composed by Arigto, plays a pivotal role in evoking the emotional depth of Selfloss. Blending ethereal music with the real sounds of whales, the OST captures the game’s wistful atmosphere, reflecting both the beauty of Yord and Kazimir’s grief-stricken journey. The music, dark yet hopeful, enhances the player’s connection to the game’s core themes of loss, healing, and environmental reflection.
Creator Alex Goodwin praised the collaboration with Arigto, noting how the soundtrack complements the game’s environmental and emotional messages. “Selfloss conveys various messages and warnings regarding the state of ecology in our world, as well as coping with the loss of loved ones. The atmospheric music by Arigto supports this emotional setting of the game. It’s been a pleasure to work with Arigto on creating such a dark but hopeful soundtrack,” Goodwin remarked.
