The Strongest TOFU Launches on Steam with a Bouncing Discount

Developer Zounoashi Games and publisher Phoenixx have announced the PC Steam launch of their quirky precision platformer The Strongest TOFU. The Strongest TOFU is now available on PC via Steam at a 10% discount, priced at $4.49 until October 15, 10:00 AM PST. This unique action platformer arrives just in time for Japan’s Tofu Day, offering you a tofu-filled adventure that combines humor, physics-based puzzles, and fast-paced action.

As the winner of Bandai Namco’s 2022 GYAAR Studio Indie Game Contest, The Strongest TOFU allows you to choose from three different types of tofu: firm, silken, and freeze-dried. Each type has its strengths and weaknesses, affecting how you move through levels, battle enemies, and solve puzzles. Designed by a certified Tofu Meister, this game promises an experience as delicate and wobbly as the soy-based protein it is named after.

Throughout the game, you will need to master The Strongest TOFU’s unique jiggle physics and responsive controls, which make every jump and move satisfying yet challenging. One misstep could lead to catastrophic crumbling, so precision and timing are key to surviving the various maps, where dangers lurk around every corner.

“We’re thrilled to have collaborated with talents like Ryo Nagamatsu and Hattori Graphics, and I’m proud to bring this game to life, especially on Japan’s Tofu Day,” says TomozoP. “We wanted to create a simple yet unforgettable game, and I believe we’ve accomplished that.”

The game also features an original soundtrack composed by Ryo Nagamatsu of Splatoon fame, as well as distinct pixel art from Hattori-Graphics, one of Japan’s top 100 graphic designers of 2024. Additionally, you can pick up fun tofu-related trivia as you progress, courtesy of Head Developer and Tofu Meister, TomozoP.

Available in Japanese, English, and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese, The Strongest TOFU is now live on Steam for $4.99, with a discounted price of $4.49 valid until October 15. For those who enjoy the game’s music, the Sugoi Tsuyoitofu original soundtrack will soon be available for purchase on the Steam Store.
