Video game publisher Akupara Games is celebrating its 8th anniversary by unveiling a series of new games, content, and exclusive merch during their inaugural livestream event. The celebration kicked off with a collaboration between Akupara Games and the Indie Game Academy, where the current state of indie games in 2024 was discussed. The event kicked off with the first public gameplay reveal of Airframe Ultra wowed viewers with intense action, featuring chrome-clad warriors and blood-soaked battlefields. Check it out:
Adding to the excitement, the team behind Rain World, VIDEOCULT, announced a new partnership with Sanshee. This collaboration will bring Rain World lizard plushies to life, much to the delight of fans. They also hosted a special game show featuring top creators from the Rain World community, further strengthening their connection with their dedicated fan base.
Akupara Games also officially announced its brand-new title GIGASWORD, an action-puzzle Metroidvania from StudioHybrid. During the livestream, the developers dived deep into the new game and detailed its gameplay mechanics and story. In GIGASWORD, you must balance a massive sword, which is not only a weapon but also a tool for solving puzzles. Slaying demons and weighing down pressure plates are just part of the challenge as you traverse the ancient halls of Nestrium. Hidden secrets, ruthless bosses, and deadly traps await those brave enough to wield the GIGASWORD. Along the way, protagonist Ezra will unlock new abilities, such as Thunder Bolts and Grappling Hooks, to help navigate the treacherous world.

As humanity teeters on the edge of collapse, Ezra must recover the God Crystal to restore balance and bring peace. With an intricate blend of combat and puzzles, GIGASWORD promises an epic journey where both brains and brawn are required to survive. Akupara Games also unveiled a new DLC expansion for Ynglet, with a showcase by developer Nifflas.
To commemorate the occasion, Akupara Games announced a special sale across all their titles on Steam, running from September 19th to October 13th, along with discounts on other platforms. Fans will also enjoy 40% off on all Akupara Games merchandise through Yetee, as well as the launch of a Chronos plushie campaign with MakeShip, giving players the chance to bring home a physical reminder of their favorite Akupara games.
