Independent Game Shops Might Not Get Red Dead Redemption 2 Until November

Red Dead Redemption 2 Cheat Codes Guide

Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out next week on 26 October, 2019, as the highly anticipated game of the year by Rockstar Games. There seems to be some bad news taking rounds in the gaming community regarding the game itself about not coming to independent game shops till November.

In a report by Kotaku, many local ships and distributors have reported that small, independent outlets may not be getting copies of the game on its release date. The game will only be available to big retailers like GameStop, Best Buy on the release date, while other stores are expecting the copies to arrive a week later.

Retailers are not entirely sure why this is happening, however issues of supply constraints and some stores releasing the game early might be the reason that Rockstar Games may have opted for a limited store release option. Some stores believe that they might get the Xbox One copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 on time though the probability of many independent retailers won’t get any copies of the game on the release date is still high.

GameFly has sent an email to its customers this morning saying, “Our supplier has indicated that we will not receive the game prior to its release date. At this time, we do not expect to ship PS4 discs before Wednesday, November 7th. We understand Red Dead Redemption 2 is a very popular game and apologize for this delay.”

Local game stores have long played a big part in the spirit of gaming, as they are community driven places that exemplify the passions and characteristics of the video game hobby. We can only hope that Rockstar Games can fix this issue where a most awaited game can come out fair for all businesses, whether they are are small or big.

There are also rumors going around that Red Dead Redemption 2 will come out in 2 physical disc copies at launch. This however is yet to be confirmed by Rockstar Games.
