
Acer has released its first 4K monitor that uses the HDMI 2.1 technology. The new monitor not only has 4K resolution but also a higher refresh rate of 144 Hz which is powered by the inclusion of the HDMI 2.1 Ports. The new monitor, named as the Acer XV282K KV monitor is part of Acer’s NITRO XV2 gaming monitor series.
The Acer XV282K KV monitor has a 28-inch screen that supports up to 3840×2160 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The screen features an IPS panel which is manufactured by Innolux and is an IPS panel allowing both for a higher refresh rate while keeping the colors as accurate as possible. The monitor also has DisplayPort 1.4 ports which also allow the maximum resolution and refresh rate as well.
This is Acer’s first HDMI 2.1 4K monitor and the display also features a flicker-free WLED backlight that offers up to 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut with a maximum luminance of 550 cd/m². The IPS powered panel also supports AMD’s Freesync technology which will help in avoiding screen tearing and reducing stuttering caused by a misalignment between the screen’s refresh rate and the content’s frame rate. The monitor also has support for Adaptive-Sync which offers a variable refresh rate from 48 Hz to 144 Hz and reduces screen tearing.
Coming to the design of the monitor, the monitor’s stand features four different customization and viewing angles. The stand allows the user to adjust the height, swivel, tilt, and easy conversion to either portrait or landscape orientation. This monitor features the height to be up to 180 mm tall, and the tilt range support ranges from -5 degrees to 35 degrees.
The Acer XV282K KV monitor is currently listed for Pre-Orders and the price is about ¥8499.00, or $1,246. The Monitor is expected to start shipping at the start of next year.
