Acer Announces New Lineup of Consumer Laptops Across Swift, Spin, Aspire Series

Acer has released a brand-new lineup of consumer laptops across three different series. Acer has introduced the Acer Swift 3x, The Acer Spin 3, the Acer Spin 5, and Aspire 5 laptops and these laptops feature Intel’s 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors and for graphics, a mix of NVIDIA MX450 and Intel Iris Xe Max Graphics.

According to Acer, all three laptops have been designed to push ultra-portable PC design to new territories, the refreshed devices come with intuitive features, striking design aesthetics and the latest technology in a thin and light package. In the Press release, Jerry Kao, Co-COO of Acer said:

The Swift series has always been about pushing the envelope, trying to fit as much power into as portable a package as possible. The new Swift 3X continues that mindset, with discrete graphics in a sleek chassis for those who need style and performance on the go.

It is exciting to see the new Aspire, Spin and Swift series of laptops take advantage of the real-world performance and platform integration delivered in new 11th Gen Intel Core processors,” said Chris Walker, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Client Platforms, Intel. “With the Swift 3X, we’ve partnered closely with Acer to unlock new capabilities for creators on thin-and-light laptops with the unmatched performance of 11th Gen plus the all-new Intel Iris Xe MAX discrete graphics.

Coming to the Acer Spin 3 series laptops, it features a 13.3-inch screen with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and is aimed for productive use. The laptop features a 360-degree hinge which allows user to position it in any orientation they want. The Spin 3 features the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics which will provide solid performance.

Acer SpinIt also comes with a built-in Acer Active Stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity to make the most of the touch screen when sketching or writing. The laptop comes with 2 SSDs fitted perfect for graphics and creative workflow. For IO, this laptop features two USB Type-C ports that offer support for Thunderbolt 4 and two USB Type-A ports (one on either side of the device). The Spin 3 is stated to be available in March 2021 with the lowest price tag of $849.99.

The Acer Spin 5 is a touchscreen convertible notebook which is ultralight and thin and is aimed at those seeking extreme productivity. The Spin 5 features the same hinge as the Spin 3 to provide 360-degree orientation support. The laptop is powered by up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with Iris Xe graphics with the ability to have an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 GPU installed instead of using the Intel Iris X graphics as well.

Spin 5 features an IPS panel, an 80% screen-to-body ratio, and features up to 24 GB DDR4 memory. For storage, the Spin 5 can feature up to 1 TB M.2 PCIe SSD and 2 TB HDD storage. The Spin 5 will be available in North America in February 2021 while featuring a starting price tag of $999.99.

The next laptops Acer has revealed are the Swift 3x Series Laptops. These laptops feature 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake processors paired with the new Intel Iris Xe Max discrete graphics to offer top tier performance to creative professionals such as photographers and YouTubers unique capabilities and powerful on-the-go performance for work and gaming.

The laptop is ultralight weighing just 1.37 Kg which is perfect for on the go work. The Swift 3x features a 14-inch FHD IPS screen that covers 72% of the NTSC color gamut and offers an 84% screen-to-body ratio. The Swift 3x is stated to have a battery life of up to 17.5 hours. It also features a fast-charging ability to provide four hours of battery life in just 30 minutes of charging.

For I/O, the laptop includes USB-C, Thunderbolt™ 4, and USB3.2 Gen 2 ports. The Swift 3x will be available in December 2020 with a starting price of $899.99.

The last is the Acer Aspire 5 series laptops which come with 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics or optional discrete NVIDIA® GeForce® MX450 GPUs. Aspire 5 laptops feature IPS panels, and 80% screen-to-body ratio, and features up to 24 GB DDR4 memory. For storage, the Aspire 5 can feature up to 1 TB M.2 PCIe SSD and 2 TB HDD storage.

Aspire 5 comes in 3 different screen sizes, 14”, 15.6” and 17.3” and will be available from December and will start from $499 USD.
