Achilles: Survivor Brings Mythological Action to Steam Early Access on Jan 29

Developer and publisher Dark Point Games has announced the upcoming Early Access release of Achilles: Survivor. Achilles: Survivor is a mythological “bullet heaven” game that will launch into Steam Early Access on January 29, 2025. Building on the universe established in Achilles: Legends Untold, this new installment offers you a fast-paced survival experience where strategy meets mythological action.

Set in the aftermath of the Trojan War, you take on the role of Achilles or other survivors who have escaped the underworld of Tartarus. Hades, enraged by this rebellion, unleashes his legions to recapture the souls of the escaped. You must face relentless waves of enemies, employing unique character abilities, powerful weapons, and strategic defenses to survive.

Expanding on the traditional “bullet heaven” genre, Achilles: Survivor introduces innovative mechanics that add depth to gameplay. You can construct defensive towers, healing structures, and summon allies to gain the upper hand in battle. These additions not only provide protection but also create new strategic possibilities to tackle challenging encounters.

The game features a diverse roster of characters, each offering unique combat abilities that reshape strategies for engaging the enemy hordes. With new heroes planned for future updates, Achilles: Survivor ensures fresh gameplay experiences as you explore iconic locations from Greek mythology, including Troy, Greece, and the underworld of Tartarus.

Each run through the game rewards you with treasures that enhance abilities and unlock new content, including maps, powerful upgrades, and additional challenges. You will journey through visually stunning landscapes, from towering mountain ranges to perilous dungeons, battling legendary monsters and uncovering the secrets of mythical realms.

The narrative is rooted in rich mythological lore. After being resurrected by Hades for his own schemes, Achilles defied the god of death by escaping Tartarus and liberating countless souls. Now, with Hades’ forces in pursuit, Achilles and his allies must fight for survival against overwhelming odds.

In addition to its dynamic gameplay, Achilles: Survivor offers robust meta-progression. You return stronger after every expedition, equipped with treasures and upgrades that make them more formidable against increasingly challenging foes.

Achilles: Survivors is slated for an Early Access release on PC via Steam for just $4.99. During this phase, the developer will further enhance the title with new content, and gameplay optimization and will most probably reveal a roadmap for anything else coming to the game in the weeks following its release.
