Below we have detailed how to capture a sacred site for a religious victory.

How to Capture Sacred Sites

To capture any sacred site, you will require a monk. These are religious units that you should always have a few at your base to capture sacred sites. To recruit monks, you will require a religious building like a mosque or a monastery where you can have monks to capture enemy sacred sites.

Some civilizations will not have the option to build a religious building, but this can be changed by reaching Age 3 by building Landmarks and progress the age. Once you have a monk, send it towards a Sacred Site and it will capture it.

Capturing sacred sites will lead you to religious victories, where if you successfully capture a sacred site, you have to then defend it for 10 minutes to achieve victory. During these 10 minutes, the opponents will do everything to defeat you and take it back.

If you find yourself on the other end where you have to defend your own sacred site, you must destroy all enemies that are near the sacred site and position your own units around it. This will bring the state of the site back to you after you use a monk to reclaim it.
