The Universe is Up for Taking in Age of Wonders: Planetfall, Out Now

Age of Wonders: Planetfall

The brand new title by Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios Age of Wonders: Planetfall is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Age of Wonders is one of the oldest running franchises in the turn-based strategic genre and we have seen many amazing titles in the past in this specific franchise. Age of Wonders: Planetfall takes a completely new direction for the franchise and goes sci-fi.

Players will be able to control and expand six unique races in the game as they battle or use diplomacy to their advantage and conquer planet after planet in this single and multiplayer odyssey. It offers a very deep tactical combat and in-depth empire building within the ruins of the fallen galactic empire previously run by the Star Union.

Star Union has fallen due to an unknown calamity and it is now up to the player to emerge from the cosmic dark age and build a brand new future for their people. Take control of one of six races present in the game which range from dinosaur riding all-female race of Amazon to the militant Vanguard or the cyborg-zombies of the Assembly.

Check out the launch trailer below in which you get a glimpse of Amazon and Vanguard going head to head.

Ebba Ljungerud, CEO at Paradox Interacted said:

It’s incredible to launch Planetfall as our first project together with the team at Triumph. The Age of Wonders series is well-known within the turn-based strategy community for its broad variety of tools at the player’s disposal to wreak havoc or negotiate peace. We’re really looking forward to seeing what kind of empires our players create.

CEO and Game Director Triumph Studios, Lennart Sas, also commented:

The new sci-fi setting in Planetfall presented a ton of opportunities for our team to create new lore, technologies, and other in-game features that change how the series behaves. This is a new generation for Age of Wonders.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall features a unique campaign for each race where players will use their wits, military strengths and diplomacy to explore planetary ruins and meet new races and commanders in order to forge new civilizations and annihilate the ones that stand in their way. The game focuses on fighting, building, negotiating and advancing your own race in either the campaign missions or custom scenarios as well as in online against commanders from across the globe.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall is now out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC and comes in various editions. The digital download and the standard physical edition costs $49.99 and it includes the base game. The Deluxe Edition costs $59.99 and it included the Bravado Bundle and the Spacerpunk cosmetic packs along with the Infested Woods scenario planet.
