Airplane Mode is a New Flight Simulation Game That Puts You as An Economy Passenger

Airplane Mode Lil Walkie

AMC has just revealed new details for its upcoming flight simulation game Airplane Mode, which is going to release for PC and Mac this fall. You have seen Flight Simulator that lets you be the pilot in control of an airliner. Well, now you have Airplane Mode which is the only flight simulation game where you can experience long flight hours as an economy seat passenger.

What’s a flight simulation if it doesn’t let you experience the true travel time of a long flight?  Airplane Mode features the 2.5 flight option from JFK to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. AMC had previously planned a six0hour option flight from JFK to Reykjavik only.

Check out the trailer below:

The only flight simulation game where players can experience the intense excitement of being an economy class passenger on a long-haul flight.

Game creator Hosni Auji had this so say,

Six hours can be a big investment of time, so we’re happy to offer this shorter flight option for players who want to experience Airplane Mode on a tight schedule. And for those folks, I have just two words: O, Canada! We’re also excited to have Bennett lend his voice to a key member of our crew. As an early advisor on the game, he helped mold it into the singular and somewhat quirky experience that it is today

In addition, AMC Games also announced that Bennett Foddy, the Australian-American video game designer most known for QWOP and Getting Over it with Bennett Foddy, will play the role of the captain for both flights.

Here are just a few of the things you can do in Airplane Mode:

  • Grab a window seat, and stare in silence at the slowly passing clouds as you try to make time go faster through sheer force of will.
  • Experience a more realistic depiction of how people really fly than even the most ambitious AAA flight simulations launching in 2020. For example, players can enjoy the myriad delights of their carry-on luggage, including a book, and a pen. And headphones!
  • No learning curve! Players can pick up and play without the need for extensive tutorials, instructions, or — strictly speaking — consciousness.
  • Other flight simulators give you high-definition cockpits with a billion switches and dials, but Airplane Mode is the only one that offers a realistically rendered seatback trays.
  • Enjoy an inflight safety video from AMC Games’ “slightly off” network sibling IFC.
