Developer Bacronym Games and publisher AMC Games have announced the release date of their upcoming simulation game Airplane Mode. Airplane Mode is releasing on PC worldwide on October 15, 2020, and will cost you $11.99. Airplane Mode is an air passenger simulation game where you play as people traveling on airplanes rather than flying the plane and the long-journeys are played in real-time.
You will get to experience the full thrill of travel by enduring flights that last 6 hours or longer in real-time complete with crying babies, spotty wi-fi, turbulence, and tiny bags of pretzels. The game will feature two flight options at launch including a 6-hour journey from JFK to Reykjavik and a 2.5-hour trip from JFK to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Once your plane has left the runway, you will get to enjoy a variety of in-game content such as exclusive entertainment available only inside Airplane Mode. You will also get to hear in-flight updates from the infamous game designer Bennett Foddy as the voice of your captain and you will also get to see an inflight safety video from AMC Games ‘slightly off’ network sibling IFC.
You will also have access to the Podcasts app on your in-game phone which will feature the first exclusive music podcast by Noah Sasso. Sasso is the game designer of BaraBariBall from the classic indie game collection Sportsfriends. You will also have access to the following experiences and activities options in the game:
- Let the white noise of the engine, the “bing!” of the flight PA system, and the din of fellow passengers transport you instantly to your row and seat. Take in your surroundings and allow yourself to imagine a seatbelt fastened securely around your waist.
- Your carry-on items and the in-flight entertainment system have never been more enjoyable. Will you find your missing pen? Did you forget your phone charger? Will you discover even more exclusive content? You’ll have to rummage around to find out!
- Just like being a real-life passenger, there’s no need to learn how to fly a plane. Other flight simulations give you high-definition cockpits with a billion switches and dials, but Airplane Mode is the only one that offers a realistic depiction of how regular people fly.
- Experience what might possibly be the most challenging videogame you’ve ever played. Will you experience the relief of being disconnected from the outside world? Or will listlessness prove to be your final boss battle?
You can now check out the game page on Steam and add the game to your Steam Wishlist as well. Additional details about the game will be revealed in the coming days.
