AMD Ryzen Mobile 3000 Series Confirmed For CES 2019

AMD Ryzen Mobile 3000

AMD Ryzen mobile chips are pretty powerful because they come with AMD Vega graphics and are way better than the Integrated graphics that Intel has to offer. While having a dedicated graphics card is always better, AMD Ryzen mobile chips are very decent and offer a lot of power. The AMD Ryzen mobile 3000 series chips will be making an appearance at CES 2019 according to latest reports.

Folks over at VideoCardz were able to get a glimpse of some of the slides that AMD is working on for CES 2019 and those mentioned upcoming chips like the AMD Ryzen mobile 3700U and 3500U. These might not be 7nm chips and might be refreshed versions of what we already have on the market but that is speculation at this point and we could be wrong.

It would be interesting if AMD announced the 7nm chips so early in the year. That would be a major blow keeping in mind that Intel is still struggling with the 10nm process. All things considered, it is more than likely that the desktop versions will release before their mobile counterparts. Desktop versions have been leaked before and you can check out the specifications below:

Model  Cores/Threads  Base Clock  Boost Clock  TDP
Ryzen 9 3800X  16C/32T  3.9 GHz  4.7 GHz  125W
Ryzen 7 3700X  12C/24T  4.2 GHz  5.0 GHz  105W
Ryzen 7 3700  12C/24T  3.8GHz  4.6GHz  95W
Ryzen53600X  8C/16T  4.0 GHz  4.8GHz  95W
Ryzen 5 3600  8C/16T  3.6GHz  4.4GHz  65W
Ryzen33300X  6C/12T  3.5GHz  4.3GHz  65W
Ryzen33300  6C/12T  3.2GHz  4.0GHz  50W

It will be interesting to see what kind of performance boost the AMD Ryzen mobile 3000 chips will have to offer as compared to the current versions as well as what the competition has to offer. AMD has made 4 cores the standard for CPUs, even mobile ones and that is a trend that we have already seen on 2018. I expect the same in 2019 as well. I do think that more than 4 cores will not be the new norm.

Let us know what you think about these upcoming AMD Ryzen mobile 3000 series chips and whether or not you would buy a laptop powered by one of these chips.
