Bioware has announced that they are working to change loot mechanics in Anthem and the new update with fixes will arrive soon. Everyone who has played Anthem will be aware of the fact that at this point, Anthem’s loot system is a mess.
However, the good thing here is that Bioware is not ignoring all the problems and is actually listening to fan feedback. The lead producer Ben Irving took it to Reddit and detailed everything that the players can expect coming in the new update which is focused on improving Anthem’s loot mechanics.
One of the most highlighted changes coming in the new update is new inscriptions mechanics. After the update, Inscriptions will only apply to the item it is meant to be. This is identified by the gear icon. If it comes with a suit icon, it will apply the benefit to the entire Javelin.
This will help remove the problems where you will see wrong item bonuses on incorrect items in the game such as assault rifle with pistol damage bonus. Bioware is also working on reducing the pools so that they are much easier to use in the first place.
Apart from inscriptions, Bioware is removing all common and uncommon drops from loot poll for players at level 30. This was a very good decision because at level 30, getting common and uncommon loot was a big disappointment. In addition, the crafting material cost for all masterwork items have been reduced to 15 which was initially 25.
