There are many types of weapons where you can arm yourself to survive in the dangerous open world of Anthem. Various types include high tech weapons to more standard ones that you can expect. It is up to what you decide as your main weapon and what you think fits your style.

Weapons in Anthem also come with traits, which are special abilities that compliment their damage dealing bullets. You can choose weapons that suit your javelin build so you can fight more efficiently.

As you may have guessed, weapons come in various rarities. The rarer the weapon, the more Traits it has. Weapon rarity allows you to fit more traits to them. For common weapons, you can have 1 Inscription, while Legendary weapons can have 4.

Bear in mind that some weapons are Javelin exclusive, that can only attach or equip using a certain Javelin. These weapons are in sync with the Javelin’s abilities and perks and can only be equipped to their specific Javelin.

Heavy Pistols

Barrage

This is a heavy pistol that has a high fire rate, and allows you to take down enemy quick.

Resolution

This is another heavy pistol that has a high rate of fire, and high damage that it deals to opponents.

Blastback

This heavy pistol is best for close range combat as it deals high amounts of damage to nearby targets.

Machine Pistols

Fulcrum

A very balanced weapon in this category, that offers decent damage and high fire rate.

Trajector

This weapon is a long range weapon out of any other machine pistols in the game, but it has a lower rate of fire. As you can guess, its best for enemies that are far away.

Hailstorm

This weapon is the fastest firing gun in this category, but it has low accuracy and is best for close range combat

Light Machine Guns

All the LMG are detailed below.

Havoc

The only good things about this weapon is that it has a high fire rate, but it lacks in damage and accuracy as both are pretty low. However, it is best used in taking down waves of weaker enemies that you can spray the bullets at.

Relentless

This is a balanced LMG that is a superb option to use in combat situations.

Sledgehammer

This weapon is best used against larger enemies as it deals high damage. where it lacks is that it has a slow fire rate, and has a very small ammo clip.

Shotgun

All the Shotguns are detailed below.

Scattershot

This is a standard weapon you get as a Freelancer. It is well balanced and has a decent ammo capacity, which makes it an ideal weapon in close combat or in tighter spaces.

Constrictor

This is a very accurate weapon the more you keep firing from it. its best against tougher enemies where you can accurate land a few shots with it.

Vengeance

This weapon fires two shells at once and has a good fire rate. It is an absolute decimator in close range combat.

Papa Pump

This is a Masterwork Weapon that is an upgraded Scattershot. Reloading will increase damage by 100% for 15 seconds.

Assault Rifle

Defender

This weapon is a standard issue Freelancer assault rifle. It is very effective mid range and has a good rate of fire, and high ammo capacity.

Hammerhead

This is the best assault rifle in striking power compared to the other assault rifles in the game. it keeps its damage at long range. It is great to finish off enemies, but has a low rate of fire and a small ammo clip.

Warden

This is a burst rifle that is great for engaging enemies far away. Since it is a burst rifle, it has a low rate of fire, but its accuracy makes up for it.

Sniper Rifles

Deadeye

This weapon as a high strike force at a distance, but is quite slow. Its best if you take your time with aim and look the maximize the damage you can deal with one shot.

Devastator

This is a charge up rifle that can deliver high knockdown force at a distance. The ammo it uses also explodes on contact making it a very deadly weapon in long range.

Whirlwind

Though this weapon lacks in firepower than the rest of the snipers in this category, the Whirlwind boasts a fire rate close to resembling Assault Rifles.

Marksman Rifles

Scout

This is a powerful rifle when fired from a distance. It also has decent fire rate, and ammo clip. Best used to weaken enemies enough before you finish them off.

Anvil

This hard-hitting rifle has high rate, but has a high recoil and low ammo clip.

Guardian

This weapon fires three burst rounds, and is a good options for a mid to long range combat. This weapon can take some time getting used to.

Thunderbolt of Yvenia

This is a Masterwork Weapon is an upgraded Scout that deals large electric damage when fired at enemies. This is best used to destroy enemy shields.

Autocannon

All the Autocannon weapons are detailed below.

Mauler

This is the best weapon in this class, as it has high damage. this weapon has a low fire rate, but you can still bring down enemies fairly quickly.

Cloudburst

This weapon has a high fire rate, and is best to spray at enemies that come in waves.

Torrent

This is the most accurate Autocannon the longer you hold the trigger. It also has a high fire rate and is best to use against heavier enemies.

Grenade Launcher

All the Grenade Launchers are detailed below.

Bombardier

The grenades that are shot from this launcher bounce around an explode after a short while. It is good to bounce it around walls towards enemies taking cover.

Aftershock

This weapon’s ammo sticks to the target or the enemy and explodes after a short period.

Lurker

This weapons ammo doesn’t explode until you detonate them. This is best to prepare for traps for unsuspecting enemies in battle.
