Respawn has announced that Apex Legends Season 3 dubbed Meltdown is starting next month and it will add a new Legend along with a new weapon. The brand new Legend arriving in Apex Legends is called Crypto who is a famous hacker in the lore of Apex Legends and we have been hearing quite a lot about him in the past few days.
The new season will also add new season pass items along with changes to the Ranked Mode which was added to the game in the Season 2. Respawn released a brand new ‘Stories from the Outlands’ cinematic and it reveals Crypto is arriving in the game to save or avenge a missing friend. More details will be shared about Crypto in the coming days.
Some dataminers had already revealed Crypto as well as his skills which show that Crypto is a hacker and his abilities range from keeping himself out of the light and also deploying surveillance drones to gain an advantage on the battlefield. Apart from Crypto, the new weapon arriving in Apex Legends Season 3 is Charge Rifle which is an energy rifle.
The new season will also bring a lot of changes to the Ranked Mode of Apex Legends which will make changes to scoring, increase points requirements for higher-level matches and some new visual items as well. Apart from this, the new update will reduce the ranked position of all players by 1.5 tiers which will be in effect as soon as the new season begins and the update rolls out.
Respawn also wants to control people leaving the Ranked Mode matches by introducing harsher punishments for quitters. The developer has been listening closely to fan feedback they’ve obtained on Ranked Mode and is now ready to implement some key changes in the game based on this feedback. You can look forward to Ranked Mode being a lot better in the next season.
