Respawn and EA released their free-to-play battle royale game, Apex Legends, last night right after its announcement and it is off to an extremely strong start. After its release and just 8 hours, the game had over 1 million players live in the game which is a very big number.
The main reason behind this huge number of players on the launch night was partly because of the game’s high popularity on Twitch. As soon as the game was released, streamers took it to stream and streamed the game which led it to be the top most trending game on Twitch as well.
Unlick Blackout, Apex Legends is completely free of cost which puts it at par with Fortnite. A big factor behind Fortnite’s huge success is the factor that the game is free-to-play and if someone does not want to pay anything, they can do so and play the game normally.
The news about Apex Legends crossing 1 million players was released by Vince Zampella, CEO Respawn Entertainment on his official Twitter account. You can check out the tweet below.

The main reason behind Apex Legends strong start is also its strong mechanics, unique aspects and some very solid gunplay elements which are straight from Titanfall franchise. Imagine if the game featured titans and wall running, it would have been the best battle royale game in existence.
Starting in March, Apex Legends will have a Battle Pass system which will allow all players to have special visual customizations by playing the game and reaching milestones. This will be similar to Fortnite but in all similarities, Apex Legends as a lot of unique mechanics in its plate to offer.
Apex Legends is now out on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Origin. You can download it right now without paying a dime and jump in the action.
