Desmodus are giant flying bat creatures that can be found inside dark caves. These creatures can be tamed allowing you to mount them and fly around, making them a very valuable creature to tame. This Ark Fjordur Desmodus Taming Guide will show you the most effective way to tame this creature, which is also the fastest way in the game.
Ark Fjordur Desmodus Taming Guide
Before you set out to tame a Desmodus, you have to take plenty of Bloodbags that help you tame the animal. The process is very quick if you can target a high-level Desmodus, and allow it to feed on enough blood to raise its Taming bar quickly. It is also a good decision to take net traps to take out other Desmodus that you won’t be needing.
If you are ready with the blood bags, you need to go to the southeast volcano island on the map, to these coordinates: [Lat: 91.1, Lon: 77.3] which take you to the entrance of a cave when facing east.
This cave is also very hot and will require you to have some sort of protection. This can be easily done if you have a ghillie suit on your character. The cave will have other dangers as well as you traverse through the tunnel, where killing off the other animals will help you in the later stages.
The next task is to choose any highest level Desmodus, hanging from the ceiling. Now all you have to do is to trap all the Desmodus in the net traps, and kill off the lower level ones, leaving you with the one you need to tame. Now equip blood bags in your hotbar, and wait for your Desmodus to free itself from the trap and attack you.
Your goal here is to allow the Desmodus to pick you up, where it will then leech off from the blood bags, significantly taming the creature in the process. This process will tame the bat in less than a minute or in some cases it can even take a few seconds.
