This Ark Genesis Part 2 Maewing Guide will show you where you can find this new mount and how to catch it in the game. Maewing is going to be one of the best mounts you can get in the game, solely based on how fun and good it is for traveling around fast.
The Maewing is a platypus-looking creature that has wings in its belly like a flying squirrel, allowing it to fly and glide long distances. It is also really good in water with fast movement speed thanks to the large paddling tail it uses. The creature also has a few unique and useful attacks which can be used to hit and scatter enemies, but its main purpose of using it as a mount to travel is the most fun you will have.
Ark Genesis Part 2 Maewing Guide
Let’s take a look at where you can find these creatures and how you catch and tame them.
Where to Find Maewing
Maewings are pretty easy to find but there and catching them is very easy as well, but only if you are using the right equipment. If you are struggling to find a Maewing, you can head over to the 30-40/60-70 coordinates square on the map.
This region will contain plenty of Maewing that are easy to find and will range from different colors. Having multiple Maewings in this region will give you the advantage of securing and taming one of these creatures, especially if you are going for the traditional way of taming them. If you try to hit a Maewing, it will leap and fly off before you can even get a couple of more hits. Fortunately for you, the game has a pretty easy method to catch one.
How to Catch and Tame a Maewing
The Maewing can be caught in the common way of setting up traps and then going on to tame them, but the game has introduced a few tools that make it ever so simple and quick to capture and tame these wonderful creatures.
All you need are two very important tools that are the Harpoon Launcher and the Trap Net ammo. These are new tools that you can use to instantly capture a Maewing. Combine the Trap Net ammo to the Harpoon Launcher, aim at a Maewing and it will enclose the creature in a net, trapping it to the ground.
At this point, the Maewing will be incapacitated but conscious. To tame it, you first need to hit a few times until it is unconscious and then feed it Mejoberries and Citronal fruits to tame it. Once this process is done, you can mount and ride the Maewing.
