Hunting Guide – Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Hunting Guide details everything that you need to know about hunting in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Normal Animals
The animals in Assassin’s Creed are varying in nature and they will not care if you are engaged in combat or not. They can make simple battles tougher by attacking you in the middle of fights.
You will find animals nearly everywhere in the game such as open areas, cities, forests or even in waters. You can hunt down plenty of animals in the game and earn some resources. You can use these resources for crafting or trading them to blacksmith for some extra gold. Hunting down higher-level animals will give you more resources so try to hunt down animals, which are tougher to kill.
Once you are out for hunting, you can scout the wilds using Ikaros and tag all enemies in the area so that they do not ambush you suddenly. The animals in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey could be harmless prey or vicious predators. Hunting prey is very easy. They will provide you will soft leather and gold.
Most of these creatures will not attack you on sight and will run way if you miss your first hit. However, sometimes even these harmless creatures will attack you if they go on defensive. Other predators in the wild can also hunt down these animals so you might see some dead animals here and there on your journey. You can loot them as well for some resources.
Predators will attack you on sight so you need to be very careful with them. They are also some of the most difficult animals to kill in the game, as they are much tougher than normal herbivore animals moving around. Finding a good and safe hunting spot is very important while taking them down.
Try to find a higher spot where the animal will have a hard time reaching you and make sure that your view is not obstructed by objects. It is wise to be patient and find a more appropriate place rather than taking shots from a bad vantage point. In addition, you must make sure that you are not tackling a big group of predators at the same time.
If the animals are in a group and you attack one, the whole group will converge on you and you will die before you know it. It also depends on what type of animal you are hunting down. Some smaller predators can be killed in groups as well such as wolves but killing even two bears at the same will prove fatal. Sometimes you will come across animals in cages as well while you are snooping around camps and forts. Open them up and watch as they cause mayhem among their captives.
Legendary Animals
Apart from the normal animals roaming around the map, some animals are really strong and hunting them down will let you earn some really nice rewards. When you reach Phokis, head to the Temple of Artemis where you can start Odyssey quest ‘The Goddess Hunt’.
Once this quest is started, several new hunting markers will appear on your map, which will show you the locations of different legendary animals found in ancient Greece. Head to these markers when you are levelled up enough to bring down some of the mightiest and ferocious animals you have ever seen in the game. Slay the beasts and you will be rewarded with legendary gear.
