Legendary Ship Lieutenants Guide – How to Find them

Before we start on finding the best lieutenants, it is worth noting that at the start, you will have only a limited amount of crew member slots on your ship. Now, to hire more ship crew members, you will need to find a fort. You can find any fort on the map as long as you manage to handle the enemies there if things do not go as planned. Although you can head to any fort even if it is well above your level, we recommend that you choose forts that are near your level and not too high.

To hire a new member, you must find a secluded enemy in the fort and approach them silently from the behind. Once up close, knock them out. Do not kill them as you will recruit this very same person as your crew member. You can also knock out enemies with bare hand attacks. Once the enemy has been knocked out, approach them and choose the option ‘Recruit’ while you are near them.

This will recruit them instantly and they will be available in your crew management screen in the ship tab. There you can view their stats and assign them to any of the empty slots. Now, the stats of these lieutenants will depend on their level. If you head to areas which are well above your own level and manage to recruit a crew member, they will be much more powerful than the ones near your level.

Try to knock out captains and other elite soldiers which give you the best chance of getting Legendary Lieutenants for your ship. You can also use Helix Credits to hire some really powerful lieutenants for your ship but we prefer finding them on our own and then hiring them for our ship as sometimes we get a very powerful lieutenant this way.

Before you start hiring your crew members, it is wise that you scan the area with Ikaros and mark all enemies in the area as this will give you a general idea about the enemies as well. You will get to know which type of rarity they have and which skills they come with. By doing this, you can decide which is the best one to hire for your ship.

Normally, there are four types of lieutenants in the game. Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. Common and Rare will come with one special skill while Epic and Legendary Lieutenants come with two and three special skills respectively. Hence it is important that you try to hire as many Legendary Lieutenants for your ship as possible to become the ultimate champion in naval combat.
