Specifications of upcoming ASUS gaming notebooks have leaked out online and they show ASUS using both AMD and Intel CPUs in their two-gaming series. The ASUS TUF laptop spotted online is using the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H based on Cezanne-H while the ASUS ROG notebook will be powered by the Intel’s Tiger Lake-H Core i7-11370H CPU.
According to leaks, both laptops are scheduled to release in the first half of 2021 and will also feature NVIDIA’s RTX 3000 series GPUs for high-end gaming. The ASUS TUF Gaming model is based on the AMD Cezanne-H platform while the ROG Zephyrus model is based on Intel’s Tiger Lake-H platform.
The ASUS TUF laptop that has been spotted is the TUF Gaming A17 which features the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU which is an 8 core and 16 thread CPU. The CPU has a base clock of 3.0 GHz with the boost clock going to 4.30 GHz.
It has 16 MB of L3 cache and 4 MB of L2 cache and also has AMD’s onboard Vega 8 CU graphics chip. The CPU chip has a configurable TDP of 35-45W. For graphics, the laptop will be paired with an RTX 3060 discrete GPU which will pair nicely with the CPU.
The laptop will have a 17.3” IPS display which has a refresh rate of 144 Hz at 1080p. The laptop weighs in at 2.60 kg & will be shipping with a 90 WHr 4-cell Lithium-Ion battery which is standard for a product of this size. As far as RAM is concerned, the base configuration is 8 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory upgradeable to 32 GB.
For storage, the ASUS TUF A17 (ASUS FA706QM-HX011T) has 1x 512 GB NVMe SSD running at PCIe 3.0 speeds and the SSD can be upgraded to 1TB a well. For I/O ports, the gaming laptop has 1x USB-C 3.2, 3x USB-A 3.2, 1x 3.5mm combo audio jack. It also comes with Wi-Fi (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.1 capabilities. The pricing and availability of the ASUS TUF A17 is currently unknown.
The other laptop leaked is the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11370H CPU part of Tiger Lake-H family. The leaked details show the laptop can be configured to 48 GB of DDR4 memory. Information about the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE is currently limited and we will surely update you when more information about this machine leaks.
