ASUS’s upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 TUF gaming graphics card has been spotted online by Videocardz. The latest card by ASUS TUF is one of the several custom models for the RTX 3060 graphic card which NVIDIA is planning to launch in the first quarter of 2021.
The ASUS TUF RTX 3060 will have a triple-fan cooling solution. According to Videocardz, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 was reportedly going to be offered in two flavors, a 6 GB and a 12 GB model, but according to the latest information, it looks like the 6 GB model may not get to see the light of day. The 12 GB variant is said to be the one that will be announced soon.
The RTX 3060 will be based on the GA106-300 GPU and will have 3584 CUDA cores in 28 SM units. The card will have 12 GB of GDDR6 memory which is more than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, GeForce RTX 3070, and GeForce RTX 3080 cards. The RTX 3080 however has the faster GDDR6X memory. the card will also come in ASUS’s several other custom flavors including its ROG STRIX series as well.
The ASUS TUF RTX 3060 comes in a 2.7 slot design featuring a large shroud made of aluminum. The cooler has triple fans that come with the 0dB technology. The card features a massive aluminum fin array heatsink with several copper heat pipes running through it for high-end cooling.
The card will feature a custom PCB and a backplate as well. It is currently unknown what power configuration the card will feature but if we look at ASUS’s history, a single 8-pin or a dual 8-pin connector configuration might be a feature in this graphics card. For display, the card will have 2 HDMI and 3 DisplayPort outputs.
So far there are no performance benchmarks for the RTX 3060 12 GB card but we can expect the card to end up somewhere between the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and the GeForce RTX 2080. There is no word on the price of the card at this moment as well and we will have to wait for more information to come out regarding this graphics card.
