Games/Bavaria has announced its gamescom 2024 lineup, bringing a diverse array of games to the world’s largest consumer electronics trade fair. From August 21 to 25, twelve studios from Bavaria will showcase their latest projects, including notable titles like the dungeon crawler Dungeons of Dreadrock 2, the indie development sim The Games You Make, and the detective RPG Inspector Schmidt – The Ebbing. These games, along with several others, will be available for hands-on demos at the Indie Arena Booth and the Home of Indies Booth in Hall 10.2. Additionally, a selection of VR games from Bavaria will be presented exclusively to trade visitors in Hall 4.1.
The Games You Make, developed by Munich-based studio Jumpy Bit, offers you a unique glimpse into the life of an indie game developer. In this development simulation, you create their games while balancing their social lives. This title will be available for the first time at gamescom.
Dungeons of Dreadrock 2, by solo developer Christoph Minnameier, is the sequel to the award-winning original, featuring 100 new levels, five formidable bosses, and addictive gameplay. Attendees can experience this title firsthand for the first time at gamescom 2024.
Active Fungus Studios brings back the investigator in Inspector Schmidt – The Ebbing, the sequel to A Bavarian Tale. This time, the detective is entangled in a murder mystery in the far north, with suspicion initially falling on him. A new demo of this thrilling RPG will be playable for the first time at the event.
In addition to these headline titles, Games/Bavaria will feature numerous other highlights in Hall 10.2, recognizable by the Games/Bavaria logo at their respective stands. The Indie Arena Booth (Booth F010 – E019) will host the following playable titles:

- Adaptive Hero by Saltium (First Time Playable)
- Once Upon A Tile by Knothorn (New Demo)
- Asteroid Cruises Inc. by Fiery Things
In the business area of gamescom, co-exhibitor K5 Factory and three other Bavarian studios will present their VR games at booth C057 in Hall 4.1 from August 21 to 23:
- Oktoberfest – The Official Game by K5 Factory (August 21 – 23)
- Asteroid Cruises Inc. by Fiery Things (First Time Playable, only August 21)
- Sweet Surrender by Salmi Games (only August 22)
- Paper Play VR by Moondowner (New Demo, only August 23)
The K5 Factory stand, themed after Oktoberfest, will host a reception on Thursday, August 22, with Bavaria’s Minister of State for Digital Affairs, Dr. Fabian Mehring, in attendance. Dr. Mehring will also visit the gamescom congress and tour Bavarian studios. This event promises a rich exchange of ideas over traditional Bavarian treats and beverages.
