When a secret Nazi base is discovered in the bizarre and treacherous Bermuda Triangle, Chuck is called upon to investigate. Chuck is tasked with infiltrating the uncharted island, uncovering the enemy’s secrets, and rescuing the missing soldiers.

As Chuck ventures deeper into the island, he faces unimaginable horrors created by a mad Axis scientist. The island is filled with mutant insects, zombies, and other grotesque creatures that pose a constant threat. Chuck’s mission quickly transforms into a nightmarish struggle for survival against these nightmarish adversaries.
Throughout his perilous journey, Chuck must scavenge for weapons and ammunition to combat the increasingly formidable foes. As he delves further into the island, he uncovers the sinister experiments of Dr. Steiner, the mastermind behind the island’s abominations. Utilizing Steiner’s own technology against him, Chuck gains access to powerful tools such as a railgun, a jetpack, and gravity boots. These devices enable him to reach new areas and confront even more dangerous challenges, from sky-piercing castles to mysterious crystal caverns.
Bit Kid, inspired by the success of Chasm, chose to return to the Metroidvania genre but opted to move away from procedural generation in favor of a meticulously crafted world. To achieve this vision, they assembled a talented team, including artists from the Shantae series, Freedom Planet 2, and Sparklite. The game’s heroic chiptune soundtrack is composed by RushJet1, known for his work on Cave Story+, Alwa’s Legacy, and PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator.
James Petruzzi, founder, and lead developer at Bit Kid, expressed his passion for retro games and pixel art, stating, “While I’ve always been a big fan of retro games and pixel art, I really wanted to dive deep into the style of NES and 8-bit gaming. We’re aiming to be as authentic as possible, stylistically: an 8-bit color palette, 320×180 pixel resolution, and a soundtrack composed in Famitracker which has enabled homebrewers to create authentic NES music for many years.”
With its captivating storyline, challenging gameplay, and nostalgic aesthetics, WOLFHOUND promises to be a thrilling addition to the Metroidvania genre. Players can look forward to its release on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Steam for PC and Steam Deck.
