Treyarch is dropping a mid-season update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War adding a brand-new map and a game mode to the game. The mid-season update is arriving on January 14, 2020, and it will feature a new Fireteam map named Sanatorium and a new game mode called Cranked for the Zombies. Another new 6v6 mode Drop Kick is also arriving as part of the mid-season update.
The new Fireteam map is named Sanatorium and it is a Soviet experimental health retreat that features low wooded hills that provide cover for fireteam squads to gain reconnaissance over the main structure of the map which is a hotel flanked by lakeside structures and a large wooden dock. The new 6v6 mode Drop Kick involves a nuclear briefcase which will be the main item of interest in the game for two teams.
At the start of the round, both teams will race to the location of the briefcase and try to pick it up. The player who manages to pick it up automatically gets a powerful pistol however the team will need to protect the person carrying the briefcase. As long as they hold the briefcase, the team will increase their score and if they manage to secure the launch codes, they will earn an additional score as well. If the person carrying the briefcase dies, they will not be able to respawn until the new carrier has been killed as well.
Zombies is getting the new mode Cranked where players will need to hurry up and take down the zombies quickly because if they don’t, they will self-combust. This means that you will always have to be on the move and hunting down the dead. Onslaught is also getting Raid on PlayStation exclusively.
Additional details will be revealed in the coming days however if you want to read the detailed patch notes of the Jan 7 patch for the game, you can head over to Treyarch’s website.
