Treyarch has announced that Black Ops 4 Blackout is getting a brand new map ‘Alcatraz’ today and it will be free to play until the end of this month. Fans who have been waiting for a long time to jump in Blackout will be pleased to know about this announcement as they can try the battle royale mode for free for the entire month as well as try out the new map ‘Alcatraz’ landing today.
The new map is called Alcatraz and it is based on the infamous San Francisco’s prison Island which is also called Alcatraz. The new map will be much more closed than the original Blackout map and it will focus more on close combat rather than long range. The map is pretty much closed and looks a lot like the prison.
Just like the original map, Alcatraz will also have zombies as the trailer clearly shows some zombies inside prisons and then lose on the map as well. Apart from a new map, the game will have similar mechanics and features from the original map and battle royale mode. The map is also much smaller than the original map of Blackout.

Treyarch has made a very good decision to increase the traffic to the game as it launches the new mode by giving everyone free access to the game mode. Players do not need to purchase the full game to try out the battle royale mode from April 2, 2019 until April 30, 2019. However, console versions will require PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold to play the free mode online.
The new map Alcatraz will arrive first on PS4 and PC and Xbox One releases will get the new map a little later. Xbox One and PC release dates are not known at this point. Alcatraz is arriving on PS4 today i.e. April 2, 2019.
