Check out the Layers of Fear teaser trailer below before we jump into additional details:
Bloober Team is known for some of their best horror titles including the original Layers of Fear and its indirect sequel Layers of Fear 2 which was released in 2019. Layers of Fear 2 featured the story of a Hollywood actor who heeds the call of a despotic director voiced by horror legend Tony Todd, to star in a film shot aboard an ocean liner. Their other recent releases include The Medium which was released earlier this year exclusively on Xbox Series and PC however it was later released on PS5 as well.
Other prominent titles by Bloober Team include Blair Witch and Observer. Blair Witch was most recently released on Nintendo Switch while the development team also released a definitive edition of Observer called Observer: System Redux for PC and next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X. Piotr Babiebo, Bloober Team CEO said:
Layers of Fear was a breakthrough project for us—it paved the path for Bloober Team and began our rapid growth, allowing us to explore more stories we’ve wanted to tell. I’m really glad we’re coming back to this world, wiser and more experienced. For me, it’s important that we make this announcement during the Tokyo Games Show, as for many of us Japan is the cradle of psychological horror games. As a studio, we also have two other projects in the works, one in production and one in pre-production.
This means that Bloober Team is not just working on a new Layers of Fear title but also on two other AAA titles which are not yet announced yet. Bloober Team seems to be expanding the horror genre with their unique and immersive titles and it seems that the studio is busy creating even more titles now.
