According to recent information, the blower-style NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards are getting discontinued from production by the NVIDIA board partners. Many different vendors released multiple blower-style cards for the RTX 3000 series but it seems like most if not all are discontinuing the RTX 3090 blower cards now.
The blower-style GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards are some of the loudest options available on the market, but they are quietly being discontinued by Nvidia board partners. A total of 5 blower-style RTX 3090 graphics cards were launched from different vendors:
- ASUS RTX 3090 24GB TURBO
- EMTEK RTX 3090 24GB Blower Edition
- GALAX RTX 3090 24GB Classic
- GIGABYTE RTX 3090 24GB TURBO
- MSI RTX 3090 24GB AERO
Out of these 5, 3 cards have already been taken down from the manufacturer websites. The MSI GeForce RTX 3090 24GB AERO, ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 24GB TURBO, and GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 24GB TURBO listings have been removed from their respected websites.
According to rumors, the board partners are discontinuing these blower-style RTX 3090 graphics cards as the same blower design will potentially be used in the recently announced NVIDIA CMP mining cards. The blower-style cooler might be the design of choice for the CMP series cards. Blower-style cards such as the GeForce RTX 3090 models are typically less efficient and much louder than the normal multi-fan design seen on gaming cards.
The loud blower cards don’t matter to miners. Mining operations can handle being louder due to the cooling solution. Currently, we do not know if we will even see the blower-style design being used on the CMP series mining cards, but we will see shortly. As for the RTX 3070 and 3080, the existing models with blower-style cooler designs have not been discontinued.
The remaining stock for the RTX 3090 blower cards will also be sold and then no more will be manufactured. If you want to get yourself a blower cooler 3090, you will need to hurry because the stocks will be extremely limited now.
