Bohemia Interactive is Holding an Arma 3 Art of War Contest for Charity

Arma 3 Art of War

Arma 3 is Bohemia Interactive’s signature war game and the game has been receiving continuous updates even after all these years of its initial release. Different events and DLCs have ensured that the fans of Arma 3 keep returning back to this brilliant war game. Now, Bohemia Interactive has announced a brand new contest for Arma 3 which is called the Art of War Contest.

The latest Arma 3 Art of War Contest will ultimately form the basis for a charity DLC that will aid the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). For the contest, Arma 3’s creative community of artists and modders are all invited to submit original 2D artworks and cosmetic 3D assets across four contest categories. All the winning entries, along with two new single-player scenarios specially designed by Bohemia Interactive to showcase the creations, will be made available to everyone as a small DLC package later this year.

Submissions for the Art of War Contest are now open and will close on July 15, 2020. This event is completely for charity and 100% of Bohemia Interactive’s proceeds from the Arma 3 Art of War DLC (after taxes) will be donated to ICRC to support their response to the COVID-19 pandemic along with their other humanitarian efforts in providing protection and relief to victims of wars and violence. The expected price of the charity DLC pack is 2.99$. Two optional higher price tiers will be made available for people who want to donate extra costing $9.99 and $19.99.

After 10 months as a paid DLC, the charity pack will become free for all players of Arma 3 and Bohemia Interactive will share the details of the total charity amount raised because of the charity DLC pack. The contest details are:

The Arma 3 Art of War contest is divided into four categories: Props, Character Accessories, Character Clothing, and a special 2D artwork category in any medium on the theme of International Humanitarian Law in future conflict. Entries in the latter will be displayed in a virtual in-game gallery, where players can learn about the challenges that various new technologies might present to organisations such as the ICRC. In addition, a second short scenario will be developed by Bohemia Interactive using the winning assets from the 3D categories.

Besides supporting a charitable cause, contest participants will also be able to win some art-inspired prizes. Bohemia Interactive will offer 1st place winners their choice of a Wacom Intuos S drawing tablet or a collection of professional art supplies, plus a limited edition T-shirt, silver medal, and a copy of the sumptuously illustrated book, War and Art. Similarly, 2nd and 3rd place winners will each receive a range of prizes, on top of the prestige of having their names in the developer credits.

More details can be found on the official Art of War page on the Arma 3 website.
