Borderlands 2 Might Get a Surprise DLC At E3 to Set up Story Before Borderlands 3

Borderlands 2

Developer Gearbox might be planning a Borderlands 2 DLC release next month at E3 2019. This new DLC is supposed to set up the story before the release of Borderlands 3 and should bridge the gap between the end of the events of Borderlands 2 and the start of Borderlands 3.

The rumored DLC was reported by PlayStation Lifestyle where it reported about the content that the developer might be bringing much sooner. The report also says that the DLC add-on will be called Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary, which should release during the week of E3.

Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary will allow players to go for one last battle and fulfill their thirst for Borderlands that you need before the third title releases. Lilith was one of the playable vault hunters in the first Borderlands game, and since been a reoccurring character across the series.  She was a resistance leader in Borderlands 2 and was the key in defeating Handsome Jack and revealing the map. She has also been seen in the game videos of Borderlands 3, which suggest that she is doing pretty good and that she is alive.

If it turns out to be true, it would be a fantastic way to set fans for the upcoming third title in the series, which is already one of the most anticipated games of the year. Bridging the gap of the stories will make much more sense when Borderlands 3 actually releases in September, which is not so far away.

While the news of the DLC is still unconfirmed, it certainly makes sense that Gearbox would want to tie the games’ stories together as many fans have gone back to playing Borderlands 2 since the reveal of Borderlands 3.
