Below we have detailed the Easter Eggs that you can find in Borderlands 3.
Easter Egg #1 – Wick and Worty
Fans of the Adult Swim animated series Rick and Morty will find an amusing similarity in one of the boss fights you will have in the game. The enemies in the game are called Wick and Worty and they can be found on Prometha in Lectra City.
Easter Egg #2 – Pain and Terror
If the name of these enemies doesn’t resemble that of Penn and Teller, maybe their facial features will give out the similarity. Yes, you are correct if you have already guessed that these enemies are based on the two American magicians Penn Jillette and Teller. You might be familiar with their TV show called Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
Easter Egg #3 – Heckle and Hyde
Another pair of enemies with a similar sounding name. And if you haven’t guessed it yet, they are based on Dr. Jekyll and Hyde characters from the book written by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Easter Egg #4 – Mother of Grogans
This is another enemy that you will have to fight in the game, and she is based on Daenerys Targaryen aka Mother of Dragons from Game of Thrones. You will eventually find her in sewers or In dark places for a surprise ambush.
Easter Egg #5 – Balin
Remember the Balrog in the Mines of Moria from Lord of the Rings? Well yes, you have to fight such a boss in an abandoned dark mine that features Balin based on Balrog from the original movie. The enemy is just as big and bad as the Balrog.
Easter Egg #6 – Dr. Disrespect
This Easter Egg was revealed by the Doc himself on his twitter. A very famous quote by Dr. Disrespect himself is “Violence, Speed, Momentum,” and there is a mod called Forceful Disruptor that details the following:
- +1 Violent Violence
- +1 Violent Speed
- +1 Violent Momentum
Easter Egg #7 – Crawly Family
You will come across some enemies that are called Crawly, which will be large insect looking creatures that have these large mustaches and wear hats like the Crawley Family from the TV show Downton Abbey.
Easter Egg #8 – Bernie Sanders
There is a shield in the game called Buckler Nova Berner, and it comes with a slogan that says “Feel the Bern.” This Easter Egg is based on the US Senator Bernie Sanders who had the same line when he ran in the 2016 US Presidential Election.
There are quite possibly many more Easter Eggs in the game that are to be discovered. Many of them might have been missed by you because of their subtle reference. Either way, it is great to come across one of them in the game.
