Call of Duty Modern Warfare Alpha – First Impressions

Modern Warfare Alpha

I don’t know how every time Infinity Ward manages to surprise us by putting out the best Call Of Duty Games and you must be wondering why? Know it all by reading our Call of Duty Modern Warfare Alpha – First Impressions.

Jump In The Fight

Modern Warfare’s Alpha was exclusive to PlayStation 4 only as a part of their deal, players got to play the new mode Gunfight which is two teams with two players on each side going against each other in a round-based game where the first game to win six rounds wins.

Gunfight is a mode that fits in perfectly with a game like Call Of Duty because it is exactly what the franchise has been built upon. Fast, rapid and nonstop action, also this is a mode that tests and pushes your reflexes instead of pure skill.

The mode is absolutely fun it has so much of tension and thrill as you get random guns every time which is a big difference-maker, matches are very fast and there is barely any time to chill out like you have in regular multiplayer modes.

What I loved the most about it was the plot twist they added in to avoid camping and hiding as when the timer runs out a flag is spawned in the middle, first one to capture it wins the round.

It Has Finally Changed (For The Best)

Gameplay has finally changed and this isn’t a reskinned game, Modern Ware takes in the formula of classic COD into something even greater. There is a lot of originality present in the game

First match in and you could tell how everything has been made from scratch. The gameplay at first might feel a little off due to the changes but after a few games, you get the hang of it.

The movement has been improved, it is a little slower compared to old games but feels way too realistic. Gunplay has never felt this lifelike and authentic before from the way every gun controls and shoots to their sound design and physics. Infinity Ward has gone all out with this one.

Every gun has a decent amount recoil in it, all the weapons have a slight learning curve to them and you have to master it, gone are the days where you could just aim down the sights and get a kill across the map using assault rifles.

There was no create a class in the alpha but you could still tweak your weapons a little bit thanks to the firing mode, you can select from the three options single, burst and auto but this varies from gun to gun.

Looks Too Alive (That Too In Alpha Stage)

Despite the fact that this was an alpha but it looked really good, the graphics where nice and the color tunes used went well with the whole theme. Yeah, we noticed a lot of late loading of textures but in the Alpha, it doesn’t really matter.

Gun Shoots Bang Bang (Sound Design)

As I said earlier the gunplay is out of this world and a very important thing that makes it that good is the sound design. Every gun sounds super impactful and the general sound design is perfect. Hearing footsteps and the direction of the sound was on point, explosions, movement and all that happens during gameplay was best!

Things Are Shaping Up To Be Great

After playing the alpha four days straight and putting a ton of hours in all I have to say is that we are about to have one of the greatest COD games ever. We now have great gunplay, new and improved gameplay and finally a new build of the game. All aboard the hype train!
