Developer Gato Salvaje has released a post-launch update roadmap for their recently released Celtic RPG The Waylanders detailing important upcoming updates. The Waylanders is a real-time-with-pause party-based RPG and it was released early this month for PC via Steam and GoG.
Studio co-founder and creative director Sergio Prieto detailed:
The Waylanders is a story that our team has been working on for the last five years and we’re so happy to see it out in the world. We’re aware that the game launched with more issues than we’d realized and we’re working to correct that. Thank you to everyone in The Waylanders community who has reported a bug. We’re working as quickly as we can to make improvements to gameplay, animations, and translations, and we hope to have The Waylanders much improved soon.
Soon after the title’s release, a hotfix arrived with fixes to some of the critical issues with the game including problems with the later game quest markers along with Direct3D fullscreen bugs and animation issues. According to the new The Waylanders update roadmap, the next update will arrive in early March and it will focus on additional missions with a focus on bugs found in the main storyline and loyalty quests. Additional improvements will include medieval era cutscenes as well as fixes solving a bug that stops some companion torque scenes from triggering.
In addition, the update will also address the problems with party selection, quest selection, and some codexes not unlocking properly along with plenty of other smaller issues. After the March update, the next update is slated for early April which will focus on bug fixes focusing on gameplay tweaks and improvements to boss battles. The developer also aims to add new quests for Tiana and Lugaid in the next updater along with new Steam achievements for final quests in the game.
The final planned update for The Waylanders will arrive in early May and it will focus on game performance in the bigger Medievil maps along with improvements to player progression and game balance along with revisions to text and translations. Some of the quests will also have new amounts of experience and loot earned during them as well in this update. Additional details will be shared about the future updates later when the team figures out new issues in the game.
Previously, the studio also teased reborn characters Amergin and Nazhedja. The full release came after multiple delays as the developer wanted to add new details and features in the full release.
