Survival Horror RPG Chernobylite Leaving Early Access, Console Release in July 2021

All in! Games and The Farm 51 have announced that their sci-fi survival horror RPG Chernobylite will fully release on PC and consoles in July 2021. Chernobylite is currently available in Early Access on Steam and Games in Development on GOG however the developer is now aiming for a full release of the title along with its console debut as well. The game features a 3D-scanned environment of Chernobyl and is currently offering a 20% discount to all new players.

In anticipation of the title’s full release, the developer has released the Exclusive Final Pre-Launch Mega Patch for the game titled ‘The Final Stage’ which is now available to all Early Access players of Chernobylite. This major patch brings significant changes to the storyline, dialogue, localization, soundtrack, and the game’s concluding level. According to the official press release, the most important improvements in ‘The Final Stage’ include:

  • The entire storyline of the game has been thoroughly rewritten to make sure the Chernobylite mystery will be one to remember.
  • We’ve significantly improved player immersion with all-new voiceovers in English and Russian.
  • Localization for all major languages is now complete, including; simplified Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, and Spanish, allowing gamers to enjoy Chernobylite in their native language.
  • A brand-new and original soundtrack from award-winning composer Mikolaj Stroinski has been implemented, building a whole new layer to a world already steeped in ambiance.
  • The first part of the new level – Heist, has been added to tease what will await gamers in the grand finale.

Chernobylite Release

Set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, Chernobylite features free exploration in its disturbing world with challenging combat, crafting, and non-linear storytelling. The game is built using Unreal Engine 4 and is based on Reality 51’s scanning technology that has been developed by The Farm 51 for over five years. Main features of Chernobylite include:

  • Explore a beautiful and horrifyingly accurate 3D-scanned recreation of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
  • Collaborate or compete with other stalkers in the Zone, but whatever you do, never fully trust them. Remember, everybody has a hidden agenda.
  • Face and survive natural and supernatural threats.
  • Immerse yourself in a thrilling, non-linear science-fiction horror story.
  • Make good use of your chemistry and physics knowledge to craft equipment and manage supplies.
  • Fight against savage creatures pouring out of an alternate reality.
  • Investigate and collect data with a set of sophisticated environmental and substance-analyzing tools.

For its initial release, Chernobylite will release on Steam, GOG, PS4, and Xbox One on July 21. The Steam discount of 20% is valid until April 30, 2021, and everyone who purchases the game during its Early Access phase will get access to all future and post-launch DLC for free. After its initial release, the game is also planned for an Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S release. Details of these platforms will be revealed further down the road.
