CHIEFTEC Unveils New Additions to its Polaris Series PSUs, Introduces 850W, 1050W Models

CHIEFTEC has unveiled 3 brand new power supplies as part of its Polaris PSU series. The three new models are additions to the company’s current 80PLUS Gold Polaris Series. The two new power supplies are the 850W and 1050W models with a 1250W model planned to release in the third quarter of 2021.

CHIEFTEC is a globally established brand for reliable PC chassis and power supplies and it is announcing the release of three new models to its successful 80PLUS Gold Polaris series of power supplies. Building on the same technical features of the existing Polaris models, the models come with LLC half-bridge converters with DC-DC technology.

The PSUs feature fully modular cable management to ensures a clean and organized build process. 650mm long CPU and Mainboard cables ensure these power supplies also work well with larger systems.

In the new 850W and above models, there is one key difference from the lower wattage models. One key difference of these higher wattage models in addition to the power and the cables is the 140mm FDB silent fans, which should allow for quieter operation while keeping these powerful PSUs cool.

The new CHIEFTEC PSUs come with security features AFC (Automatic Fan speed Control), OCP (Over Current Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), OTP (Over Temperature Protection), OVP (Over Voltage Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), SIP (Surge & Inrush Protection) and UVP (Under Voltage Protection.

All these parameters will ensure that under all kinds of circumstances, your PC parts will be protected from getting damaged. Coming to the design, the PSUs feature a black theme with Polaris branding on the sides. The power supply has dimensions of 160mm x 150mm x 86mm (DxWxH).

The CHIEFTEC Polaris 850W and 1050W 80PLUS Gold PSUs both feature a 24-month warranty meaning that if there is any problem during this time, the company will fully back you up and offer you repairs/replacements.

Pricing for the PSUs is currently unknown. However, the 850W and 1050W models will be available soon in May with the 1250W model arriving in Q3 of 2021.
